The $5 Liberty Head gold coin is the only gold series in our Nation's History minted at 7 different United States Mint branches! The design was created by Christian Gobrecht and features a Liberty head encircled by 13 stars representing the first 13 colonies.
Magnficent Heraldic Eagle Reverse
The reverse has a majestic Eagle with outstretched wings. In 1866 the motto "In God We Trust" was added above the head of the eagle in a flowing banner.
